For the Base
 1 gal fresh-pressed apple cider (unfiltered, if possible)
 1 medium apples, sliced (try Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith)
 ½ cup fresh cranberries
 ½ cup fresh orange juice
 ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (optional, adds brightness)
 2 tbsp pure maple syrup or honey (optional, adds sweetness)
For the Spices
 3 cinnamon sticks
 5 whole cloves
 2 star anise
 1 tsp whole allspice berries

Stovetop Method

Add all ingredients to a large pot or Dutch oven.

Bring to just below a simmer over medium heat — avoid boiling to preserve the fresh cider flavor.

Reduce heat to low and let steep for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Strain out fruit and spices. Ladle into mugs and serve warm, garnished with a cinnamon stick or orange slice.
