Preheat oven to 375F. Once preheated turn the oven down to 350F right before placing the muffins in to bake.
Mix together wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add in baking powder, baking soda and sugar and blend well. Slowly add in flour until well combined. Fold in poppy seeds. Pour batter into greased muffin tins. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean and muffin tops are lightly browned.
While muffins are cooling, mix together powdered sugar and grapefruit juice and lightly drizzle over muffin tops.
Makes approximately a dozen regularly sized muffins or 8 large.
