There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying your favorite foods in a customary manner, especially when talking about organic fruit, but we’d like to inspire you to step outside of the box with a nontraditional pairing that will make your taste buds soar.
Normally when someone asks us our favorite way to eat a plum, we’d respond by taking a bite of a fresh plum dramatically–for effect. Little did we know this is an extremely addicting way to prepare plums would rank so high on our list.
From the hint of brown sugar and perfectly baked plum slices, you’ll be hooked from the first bite. The only thing left to discuss is this: what’s your favorite side to eat it with? Crackers, bread, or something entirely different? Fill us in below in the comments section, but first, bookmark this recipe.
7-8 sheets of Filo Dough, thawed
1-2 fresh Organic Plums, sliced thin
¼ cup of brown sugar
1 Tbsp of butter, melted
1 Brie round
Fresh Ground Pepper
1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium sized bowl, place sliced plum pieces. Sprinkle with brown sugar, lemon juice, sea salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until the plums are coated. Roll out filo dough and brush top layer with melted butter. Place brie round on top of buttered filo dough. Layer plum mixture on top of brie and begin to wrap brie/plums with the filo dough. Brush the edges of the filo dough with more butter in order to get them to stick together. Do this until the cheese and plums are wrapped completely. Brush with additional butter until the dough is well coated. Place wrapped brie on a lighted greased cookie sheet and bake in oven for 20-25 minutes until the filo dough has lightly browned. Serve hot with crackers or bread.
