Homegrown Organic Farms Launches Gift Box Program
Porterville, CA (December 16th, 2009) – Homegrown Organic Farms is pleased to announce a new line of packaging designed for in-store displays and promotion of organic fruit.

The cardboard box holds four pounds of various fruit, including navels, mandarins, cara cara navels, peaches, nectarines, pluots, pomegranates and persimmons. The gift box can utilize many sizes depending on the pattern of the pack used with each size. The gift box features an open top design giving the consumer complete viewing of the product and displays well for merchandising. A clear snap on lid is available as an option to prevent tampering in the store if that is preferred. Each box is UPC coded to help reduce shrink at the store level due to mistakes made at checkout.

Director of Marketing Scott Mabs explained the program as follows, "We want to give our customers options for merchandising organic fruit. Even though we love the way a bulk organic produce set displays, we also realize that shelf space is at a premium. This package has point of sale information to help consumers recognize the premium organic fruit we offer."

In addition, Homegrown will be offering different POS messages to be affixed to the box. These will include information on specialty varieties such as cara cara navels and pluots. The "No Toxic Pesticides" label is available for those customers that want to feature the differences between conventional and organic fruit on the package.
